Relax on a clear autumn day at the Karuizawa Autumn Leaves Library

Karuizawa experiences autumn leaves about a month earlier than the Tokyo metropolitan area. 1 autumn-themed books are available on bookshelves set up in the rugged landscape of the Hoshino Area Plaza. Why not spend a relaxing, calm moment under the clear autumn sky as time flows quietly?

A rich moment surrounded by colorful autumn trees

On top of the larch hill, two bookshelves measuring 10m and 8m in length, called "Hilltop Bookshelves," will be installed. The bookshelves, which also serve as benches, offer a beautiful view of autumn leaves as you look up. This year, a new "Nap Book Tree" has been introduced, designed using recycled wood. You can sit or lie down on it with your favorite book in hand and spend some time relaxing.

Weekend onlysmall bookstore

On weekends, a mobile bookstore run by Analog Books will be set up to sell second-hand books. They have a wide selection of books on nature, travel and art, and it's exciting to encounter such carefully selected books. They provide a heartwarming place for people to meet books.

Book Relay Project

The "Book Relay Project" is held every year. This year, starting in September, the project called on users in the Hoshino area to collect "books that have been lying dormant at home but that they would like to pass on to the next reader." Some of the books lined up on the bookshelves are filled with the thoughts of their previous owners.

"Maple Nut Latte" with a soft autumn scent

We will be selling the autumn-only "Maple Nut Latte," which uses plenty of maple syrup. This drink, served with an adorable maple-shaped cookie, is a heartwarming hot drink that will warm your body and soul even on chilly days.
