Hoshino Community Base First skating experienceEvent period: November 5-6, 2025

This year, a skating rink will open at Kera Pond in the Karuizawa Hoshino area.

Karuizawa has long been a popular place for skating, and the predecessor to the Keraike Skating Rink was an ice hockey rink built around 28. In Karuizawa, where the coldest days of winter last for many hours, skating has long been synonymous with winter sports. There was even a time when a special train called the "Ginban Skating Train" ran from Tokyo.

Hoshino Community Base, whose theme is "Enriching life in Karuizawa," planned a mini trial session in order to allow local residents to enjoy skating, a sport rooted in the Karuizawa climate.

This content is aimed at those who are "skating for the first time" or "it's been a long time since I last skated." From how to put on your skates to how to move forward on your own, master the basics and make your skating debut!
