Tombo no Yu will be holding "Tombo no Sauna Day & Sauna Week," a sauna event to refresh your mind and body. On January 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, Tombo no Yu will be exclusively reserved for the sauna event, known as "Sauna Day." From January 24th to January 31st, we will be operating as "Sauna Week," offering special sauna-related experiences in addition to regular business hours. Why not refresh your mind and body in Karuizawa this winter?

Tombo no Yu's sauna is heated to 80-90°C and auto-louvered every 20 minutes. The cold water bath at about 14°C and the outdoor air bath in midwinter will refresh your body from the inside out.

1/22, 23, 24 Sauna Day only *Please bring and wear your swimsuitExperience whisking, a treatment using birch leaves and branches.

For three days only, a tent sauna will be set up in the center of Tombo no Yu. Guests can experience "whisking," a traditional European activity, in groups. Using a "whisk" made from a bundle of birch or other plant branches, participants warm their entire body by tapping and pressing it against their body.
*Please bring and wear a swimsuit.

Between sauna sessions, we offer a special refreshing drink called "Forest Soda," which allows you to feel and taste the Karuizawa forest. The scent extracted from five types of wood (larch, red pine, fir, Japanese cypress, and Japanese cypress) will envelop you and help you to recover both body and mind.

On the final day of Sauna Day, January 24th, Mag Manpei, a sauna-loving comedian and whisking master, will be making an appearance. He will be sharing group whisking treatments and sauna-related trivia in a humorous talk show.

Sauna Week only from 1/24 to 1/31A special outdoor bathing space has been created

For a limited time, an "open-air bathing space" will be set up where you can relax while gazing at the forest. Chairs will be placed in the large pond area that continues from the open-air bath, allowing you to experience the comfortable open-air bathing that is unique to this time of year when temperatures drop below freezing.
