Introducing a comprehensive day trip plan that lets you fully enjoy Karuizawa's nature and hot springs. We offer snow boots, binoculars for rent, and a tote bag for you to take home with you. Aside from nature watching and lunch, all time is free, so enjoy a refreshing time for both body and mind.
Winter solo day trip hot spring plan
Period: Friday, December 12, 2025 - Tuesday, March 31, 2026
Locations: Picchio, Tombo no Yu, Villagers' Restaurant, Harunire Terrace
9: 30 ~Check in at Hoshino Onsen Tombo no Yu
When you arrive at the Hoshino area, please come to the reception desk at Tombo no Yu. You will be given a tote bag and a journal for solo activities. Once you have received them, proceed to the Picchio Visitor Center (5 minutes on foot).
10: 00 ~Enjoy nature watching in the Wild Bird Forest with a guide, even if you're alone
Take a stroll through the wild bird forest with a Picchio guide. This encounter with nature will stimulate your intellectual curiosity and lead to new discoveries, leaving you feeling refreshed both physically and mentally. (The tour lasts approximately two hours.)
12: 00 ~Reset your frozen body in an instant with the hot spring water flowing directly from the source, Tombo no Yu
After nature watching, head to Tombo no Yu, known for its skin-beautifying properties. Relax and soothe your fatigue while gazing at the winter scenery.
14: 00 ~Enjoy a quiet moment with a rewarding hotpot lunch
After your soak in the hot springs, you will enjoy a hearty hot pot lunch at the village restaurant, which will warm you to the core.

15: 30 ~Use the Hoshino Area Ticket to go to Harunire Terrace
This plan includes a 1000 yen voucher that can be used in the Hoshino area. Feel free to use it to end your day by relaxing at a cafe or buying souvenirs. Special benefits exclusive to this plan are also available.
We have items to make your trip more enjoyable.
We will lend you winter boots and binoculars for the nature watching tour, as well as a towel set and sauna hat for Tombo no Yu. You can also take home a tote bag, skin care set, and solo journal as a memento of your trip.
