As the autumn breeze feels pleasant and the forests of Karuizawa gradually take on a colorful hues, Picchio begins its new nature tour, "A Colorful Autumn Forest Walk." Accompanied by a nature guide who will captivatingly tell you the tales of the forest, you'll enjoy a 40-minute stroll along the footpath, listening to the murmuring of the river.
With the theme of autumn colors, we will provide you with an opportunity to experience with all five senses the wonders of nature that we usually overlook. At the end of the tour, why not choose your favorite leaf and make a one-of-a-kind bookmark to remember your experience?

This is a convenient tour that starts at Harunire Terrace and accepts registration on the day. Enjoy the autumn in Karuizawa to your heart's content, while gaining new insights.

Enjoy the colors of autumn

The autumn breeze lures you into a world of brocade, woven by the changing colors of Japanese elm and sumac leaves. As you walk, you will unravel the mysteries of the forest and discover why it is dyed in such beautiful colors. If you look closely at your feet, you will see adorable nuts and bite marks left by squirrels. Looking through a magnifying glass, you will be touched by the resilience of these tiny lives. Experience the colors of autumn with all your senses, while enjoying combining them with traditional Japanese colors.
