Karuizawa Hoshino area celebrates its 110th anniversary this year. As one of the commemorative events, we will hold "Organic Wind" for the first time. In this season when the fresh greenery shines, why not feel the breeze of Karuizawa through the waving cloth dyed with plants in 110 colors.

110 color installation that feels the wind

A space of 110 rich colors spreads out over the streets of Harunire Terrace. The soft-colored cloth that flutters in the wind is dyed with natural materials such as kaffir, walnut, madder, and bayberry harvested in Nagano Prefecture. In commemoration of the 110th anniversary of the Karuizawa Hoshino area, 110 rich colors will decorate Harunire Terrace.

“Leaf and paper print” workshop

The works of artist solosolo, who lives in Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture and is responsible for the dyeing of "Organic Wind," are also characterized by the use of ink made from minerals. In the workshop, you can choose either a plain linen handkerchief or a tote bag and try printing a pattern on it by adding ink to a pattern cut out from leaves or old paper from the Hoshino area. The layout and design are free. Mr. and Mrs. Tazawa from solosolo will be supporting the production on the day.
