[Event Report] Advanced Coffee Class to Learn the Differences in Taste

Karuizawa is filled with beautiful new greenery, and it is now the season to enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee on the terrace of Harunire Terrace. In the midst of all this, we have a coffee seminar again this year in response to the voices of those who want to enjoy delicious coffee at home and want to be particular about the equipment they use to brew it. The lecturer will be Mr. Nakatani, the supervisor of Maruyama Coffee Harunire Terrace.

This was an advanced class, where we learned about coffee preservation methods, the different equipment, and even the different flavors depending on the place of production, all while tasting the beans.
For example, even with a single manual coffee mill, the grinding quality varies slightly depending on the shape and mechanism, which affects the taste.
When participants actually compared the taste of coffee brewed using several different devices, they noticed subtle changes and many expressed surprise and interest.
This was a rare opportunity to learn directly from a professional how to make delicious coffee, something that is not usually available. It was impressive to see the participants taking part in the class with serious expressions on their faces, whilst enjoying their conversation with Nakatani.
The weather was fine on the day, and under the warm sunshine, the terrace seats at Maruyama Coffee were filled with the aroma of coffee and the smiles of the participants, creating a lively and comfortable atmosphere.
