[Event Report] Fresh Hop Seminar
" " holds lectures and workshops under the theme of "enriching life in Karuizawa."Hoshino Community Base"We would like to report on the "Fresh Hop Seminar" held in October.

This was a joint project with YOHO Brewing, who wanted people to enjoy "fresh hops" that can only be tasted once a year in the midst of nature. With the hope that people would "learn how the beer they are drinking now is made and enjoy it even more," we planned a "Fresh Hop Seminar," which was attended by 15 people.
On the day, participants were wearing original goods and headbands, and were smiling and enjoying conversations in the lead-up to the seminar, which began in a relaxed atmosphere.
At the seminar, participants watched a video, picked up some freshly harvested barley this year, crushed it to enjoy its aroma, and sampled the barley before and after fermentation.
As participants learned from the very beginning how beer is made, the venue quickly became lively, with some saying things like, "Now I want to drink more!" and "I learned a lot I didn't know!"

To conclude the seminar, participants enjoyed a comparison of Craftsaurus and Fresh Hop, while enjoying the popular Sanzoku-yaki dish sold at the Villagers' Restaurant.
Everyone enjoyed the sake in their own way, such as "drinking it as is at first, then adding freshly harvested barley to enjoy the aroma," and the conversation naturally blossomed.
At the end of the event, all participants were presented with certificates by the staff of YOHO Brewing.
It was impressive to see everyone surrounded by smiles and enjoying the time before the opening ceremony.

Through this seminar, participants not only learned how beer is made, but also had a warm opportunity to talk and connect with people who share the common passion of "loving beer."
This was a rare opportunity that can only be experienced once a year, and we received many comments such as "It was a lot of fun" and "I hope it will be held again next year."
A heartwarming circle of friendship that grows through beer born in Karuizawa.
