[Event Report] Ring Making for Parents and Children ~A Gift from the Forest~

Hoshino Community Base, which holds lectures, workshops, and events with the theme of "enriching life in Karuizawa," recently hosted a workshop where parents and children could enjoy making one-of-a-kind rings while experiencing the rich nature of Harunire Terrace.

Karuizawa in July is brimming with vitality. The natural beauty of Harunire Terrace, surrounded by lush green trees and the refreshing sound of a flowing river, is unique to this season.

The participants first went to the banks of the Yukawa River, which flows along Harunire Terrace. While listening to the sound of the river in the dappled sunlight, they searched for inspiration for their ring designs. They expanded on their ideas to incorporate their favorite landscapes and patterns found in nature into their respective rings.

After that, it was finally time to start making the rings. As the rings were sized and patterns were engraved, the children held the tools with serious expressions on their faces. Parents and children were seen discussing together what kind of pattern to make, and children were seen trying their best while receiving advice from staff members, such as, "Let's try hammering this part a little more." The venue was filled with a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout.

Each ring, meticulously engraved with patterns by their tiny hands, is a one-of-a-kind creation. The children's smiles as they happily show off their finished rings, exclaiming "I did it!" and "It's so cute!", were truly memorable.

The finished rings are engraved with the time spent together as a family and the inspiration received from the nature of Karuizawa. We hope that whenever you look at the rings, you will be reminded of your memories of Karuizawa and the time you enjoyed making things together, laughing as a family.
