Karuizawa Forest Piano has been held since 2021, with the desire to allow people to enjoy music in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by rich nature during the autumn season of art. This year, we have also planned a "Forest Recital" (September 6th) and a "Nice to Meet You Duet" (September 27th) with the hope of connecting with local people through music and creating events together.

Forest Presentation

Nine people, ranging from children to adults, participated in the "Forest Recital" held on September 9th. At first, everyone seemed a little nervous, but as they introduced themselves and rehearsed, conversation flowed naturally, and the venue was filled with a warm atmosphere as the recital began.

The participants had been practicing diligently for this day. It was impressive to see them playing their usual practice pieces and favorite melodies in the open space of the Karuizawa forest, with a relaxed and relaxed attitude. Passersby also stopped to enjoy the rhythm along with the beautiful music.

To conclude the recital, all participants sang "Paprika" with great energy. The singing voices echoing along with the piano accompaniment and the beaming smiles of the audience were truly a wonderful moment that will remain in our hearts. Nice to meet you, duet

Eight people participated in the "Nice to Meet You Duet" event held on September 27th. The day was blessed with mild autumn weather, and the venue was filled with a soft breeze.

People who had never met before paired up and tried playing duets using sheet music they had never seen before. At first, they seemed a little confused about how to synchronize their breathing, but as they practiced, they naturally synchronized their breathing and it was very heartwarming to see how the sounds blended together into one. They also tried playing with three people and four hands, and it was a time filled with smiles.

This event was based on the idea that "playing for fun is more important than playing well." True to that idea, everyone connected with each other through music, and it was impressive to see them all gathered around the piano playing with smiles on their faces. It was a valuable experience playing duets with people they had never met before, and many people commented that they "had a lot of fun," making it a time when they could feel a warm connection.
