Picchio, which offers an encounter with the rich nature of Karuizawa, will be hosting two special programs designed to stimulate children's curiosity for a limited time during Golden Week.

The spring forest, just beginning to bud, is full of discoveries unique to this time of year. Why not embark on an adventure that will create lifelong memories with a professional guide?

1. Day camp for elementary school students: "Picchio Children's Adventure Club"

The "Children's Adventure Club" is a nature experience program exclusively for elementary school students, where they use their wits and ingenuity to venture off the beaten path. Through a day spent with friends, they will play freely and grow stronger.

This year's theme: "Adventure in the forest! Follow the spring animal trails."

Key points:
• Exploration: Using a map and compass, you'll follow the animal trails.
Observation: Use a nest box camera to quietly observe the precious process of wild birds raising their young.
Food: We'll cook rice in a mess tin and curry in a Dutch oven ourselves. For dessert, we'll roast s'mores over a campfire!
• Photo service: You can view photos of your child's activities later in a web album.

2. A nature experience for parents and children to enjoy: "Explore! Our First Time in the Forest - Spring"

This program is designed for toddlers aged 3-6 and their parents, offering a relaxed and enjoyable experience for both children and their parents. Even those unsure how to let their children play in nature can rest assured. The program is packed with activities designed to engage all five senses and allow children to experience the breath of spring.

This year's theme: "Animals and plants come to life! A mysterious exploration team in the spring forest"

Key points:
Explore with all your senses: See the tiny flowers at your feet, hear the beautiful birdsong. Look, hear, and touch to discover the wonders of the forest.
• Mission: Take on a mission to solve questions like "Why do birds sing?" as a family.
• Gift: You will receive a "Forest Explorer Team Certified Badge" upon completing the mission.
