The natural ice area is completely frozen over

2026/01/07

The "natural ice area" of Keraike Skating Rink, a winter gift created by the harsh cold of Karuizawa, was completely frozen over on January 7th.

Since the partial opening on January 2nd, the weather has been gradually cooling down, and now you can enjoy skating on the entire pond. Just step inside and you'll be able to feel the smooth texture of natural ice, which is different from artificial ice, and the quiet forest air.

The experience of gliding across the crystal clear ice and gazing at the winter forest up close is truly a thrill that can only be experienced at this location.
To ensure you can safely enjoy this special environment, skiing on the natural ice area is limited to before sunset at 16:00 PM.

This natural ice area is usually open until mid-February. Enjoy a unique winter experience in Karuizawa in this vast, naturally created world of ice.

*Please note that for safety reasons, the natural ice area may be subject to restrictions or changes to the skating area depending on the weather and meteorological conditions on the day.
