Spring birdwatching season is here! We'll be hosting a talk seminar and early morning tours with photographer Takanori Sugawara.

The signs of spring are in the air around Mount Asama, and the trees in the Karuizawa Wild Bird Forest are slowly beginning to bud. This time of year, before the leaves fully grow, offers excellent visibility in the forest, making it the perfect opportunity to spot birds that have survived the winter and migratory birds that have just arrived from across the sea. At Picchio, we have prepared special programs to enjoy this season when life begins to come alive.

Held on April 25thSpecial Talk Seminar: "The Feelings of Birds"

A photo session in the forest, encountering the "gaze" of birds.

We welcome photographer Takanori Sugawara, who will share in detail the ecology of birds behind the decisive moments he captures, and the stories of life he has touched through his viewfinder. While admiring his many beautiful photographs, why not listen to his insights into the "feelings of the birds" necessary to capture each shot, and the little-known true face of the forest? Whether you are a photographer or not, this will be an intellectually enriching experience that deepens your dialogue with nature.

In addition, the latest OM SYSTEM equipment will be on display at the venue. You can also try out the equipment that Mr. Sugawara actually uses and has captured countless memorable scenes with.

Why not spend a luxurious moment in the silent, dawn-time forest, enveloped in the beautiful songs of colorful summer birds such as the Blue-and-white Flycatcher and the Narcissus Flycatcher? Our guide will lead you to the "best encounter" of that day and that moment.
