[Event Report] New Green Leisure Run

"Enriching life in Karuizawa" is the theme of the lectures and workshops held byHoshino Community Base" held the "Shinryoku Yuru Run" every Saturday in May.

We successfully completed all four sessions, with a total of 68 participants. Participants came in a variety of styles, including individuals, couples, families, and groups of friends. As the sessions progressed, more and more people became familiar with each other, and some even attended more times than the staff!

Before the run, we started with warm-up exercises on the grassy field. This May was blessed with many sunny days, and we exercised in an open space surrounded by blue skies and fresh greenery. After about 15 minutes of thoroughly warming up, conversations naturally began to flow among the participants.

The course was the beautiful Kose Forest Road, adorned with lush greenery. We made our way through the forest, where the young leaves of the trees overhead shone brightly and the sounds of birdsong filled the air. Running while feeling the sunlight filtering through the trees and the refreshing breeze was a luxurious moment unique to Karuizawa, a town nestled in the forest.

"Yuru Run" is a simple style where you run for 15 minutes, turn around, and return. Because it's based on time, it's appealing because you can participate without worrying about things like "I'm not sure if I can run a long distance" or "Will I be able to keep up with everyone?" Participants enjoyed the lush green forest at their own pace, running while chatting, walking along the way to admire the scenery, and taking pictures. There were also families with children participating, making it a time that can be easily enjoyed by people of all ages.

After the run, participants enjoyed drinks at "Cafe Hungry Spot" and had time to socialize with each other and with the staff. It was a moment to enjoy conversations in the pleasant afterglow of exercise, and to expand a relaxed sense of community.

The next "Casual Run" is scheduled for a Saturday in October. We look forward to seeing you all in the forests of Karuizawa as the autumn leaves begin to change color.
