When did you start job hunting?

Tsumura-san: I started in the fall of my third year of university. At first, I didn't narrow it down to a specific industry, so I tried out internships and applied to a wide range of places, including the financial and travel industries.

Aoki: For me it was the summer of my third year of college.

Mori-san: I started by consulting with a career consultant as soon as I entered my third year of university, and I started little by little. I had never really thought about job hunting, so the people around me started early, but I was in a hurry, and at the beginning of my third year of university, I really wanted to work in the bridal industry, so I narrowed it down to that and was shown various companies.

Sato-san: To be honest, I started job hunting in May of my fourth year. I think I was really late, but the reason is that I was in a music college and majored in voice. So I was always thinking about whether to pursue a singing career or to work for another company, and I didn't think about getting a job until my third year, but I didn't think about singing either, and I lived my life that way. When I became a fourth year and everyone started to get anxious, I decided to consider singing, but also try to get a job, so I started going to the job hunting support center at my university every day, and that's how I got to where I am now.

(In your job search) what did you do specifically and how did you decide on a job?

Aoki-san: I think that the general start is probably to start with self-analysis, and I got on that track and started with self-analysis, then I compared my past self, future self, and present self. I'm from my hometown (Nagano Prefecture), so I was looking for a company (hospitality industry) in Nagano Prefecture, and that's when I found Hoshino Resorts and thought I'd talk to an employee once. Around the summer of my third year of university, we were just affected by COVID at the time, so we went online, but I was able to talk to a really friendly employee, and from the very first time we talked, I felt like we got along really well, so I was really interested from then on and I started researching the company. I think it was a big thing for me to actually meet them and get a feel for it.

Mori-san: I was originally in February of my third year of university. I had already received a job offer, and to be honest, I was longing for Tokyo, so I thought I would just decide on Tokyo, but then suddenly, I really liked walking, so I often walked around Nagano City, and while I was walking, I thought, wouldn't it be a waste to leave Nagano Prefecture after that? That's what triggered me to suddenly find the Hoshino Resorts Karuizawa office, and I immediately applied for a seminar there, went to the seminar, and entered, so it was a pretty sudden development, but when I was doing an internship in Tokyo, the sky was so beautiful that I was taking pictures, but no one around me was taking pictures, and I was only looking ahead, and I thought that I would hate to end up like that, so I wanted to be a person who notices the changes in nature and the changes around me every day, and I thought that this was a place where I could do that, and when I was talking to the employees at the seminar, there were a lot of people who were doing a lot of activities, nature-related activities, and enjoying themselves every day, so I started to wonder if I should live here, and if I want to live here. With that in mind, I applied, got accepted, and when I received an offer, I immediately accepted it and thought I'd just go there.

Sato-san: I'm from Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture, and since I only had a limited time to look for a job, I narrowed it down to just two areas: Karuizawa and Okinawa. When I happened to look at the MyNavi app, Karuizawa Hoshino Resorts was the first one to come up, and I thought, "Oh!" and remembered that there was a company like this nearby, so I thought I'd give it a try for now, so I narrowed it down to this one place, got a job offer from that one place, and went straight for the job.

Tsumura: Me. Well, maybe it's a slightly different reason than other people, but I ride road bikes as a hobby, and I've stayed at a cycling-focused Hoshino Resorts lodge called "BEB5 Tsuchiura" many times before. I thought, "Hoshino Resorts does such interesting things. You can sleep in bed with your bike. They let you do things like this, and the employees can imagine such charms. I thought, "I want to do this too," and I've always wanted to work for Hoshino Resorts, and I wanted to ride a bike in the forest, so I decided on Karuizawa.
