Good things I felt while working

Mori-san: It was a valuable experience to have been able to work with the Hoshinoya brand and to have acquired a solid grasp of language skills. To be honest, the K course was limited in time, which was frustrating at times, but I was able to experience for myself that "if you take action, you will be recognized." I was able to use my experience as a bridal flower assistant at a florist during university to complete the email distribution to convey information about the nature in the village, and I think it was a great nine months in which the actions of a Hoshino Resorts employee led to results.

Tsumura: When I'm in trouble, I try to talk to someone. I talk to the UD (unit director) of the unit I belong to.A very easy environment to talk toHe is always at his desk, so if I have any questions I can immediately consult him.

Sato-san: I'd only studied music at university, so at first I thought, "I guess I'll never be able to put what I learned to good use." But once I realized, "I was singing with confidence when I stood on stage," I was able to strengthen my mind and go to the audience without being intimidated. Also, it's a flat environment where everyone is called by their first name, so I can talk to anyone immediately, regardless of age, and I've been able to spend my time peacefully without accumulating stress.

Aoki: I think the benefit of the K course was maximized by being able to experience three facilities in one year. Karuizawa is large, but being able to collaborate with other facilities by saying, 'Let's ask that staff member at that facility,' from the first year is a great advantage. I also feel that the adaptability I gained from working with a wide range of age groups, from children to grandparents, during my part-time job at an after-school care center during my university days is useful in my current job.

Difficulties I experienced while working

Mori-san: It was a bit difficult to rebuild relationships from scratch while being transferred every six months. Now I'm working at a facility that is the complete opposite of where I was before, as it is a contracted management company, so I struggle with the gap. There are times when I have disagreements with the PAs in their 60s and 70s about how to work, and I learn something new every day. It was tough to acquire the skills to serve kaiseki cuisine that costs tens of thousands of yen for dinner, butSeeing his peers grow, he felt a sense of regret and wanted to be the first to grow.I've overcome it.

Tsumura: I guess it's the difference in age groups. Even if someone is much older than you, they're not necessarily your boss. You have to be able to express your opinions clearly even with people like that. If you just go along with what they tell you to do, you might end up being rude in the process of working... I really felt the "difficulty of a flat environment" where you have to think for yourself and approach your work.

Sato-san: At first, I didn't understand anything about bridal terminology or etiquette, and that gap was what I struggled with the most. I was scared to even talk to customers, but I was torn between the feeling that I had to take action, and it was really tough. When we changed from an overnight facility to a day-trip facility for the K course, I felt stressed by the difference in customer demographics, but I managed to overcome it by "desperately searching for ways to get back up even when I fall, because I hate to lose."

Aoki-san: I myself never imagined that I would be able to visit three facilities in one year. I feel that it took a fair amount of energy to keep up with the rapid pace at which the environment was changing.
